> I'd like to start with Web Design because it is much more complex and includes much of the insight I would give on designing Graphics, seeing that half of a great website is graphics and the other half is the layout. Now this is not a tutorial but more of way to give you another perspective when going to design a website...
Color Schemes and Blends
> First you must have something to go off of, about 90% of the websites I've created have had a logo already, where I could pull colors off of and use for the look and feel. If you don't have a logo, the better then you get to choose the colors which is much easier and can choose the right colors that blend well. An artist a while ago told me that a website should consist of three main colors, excluding white and black, One color will be your primary color used and the other two to accent the website. Usually the one primary color will be the color used in the logo. You also want to choose photos that will correspond with your three main colors. In Photoshop you can change the hue of the photo to give it a layer that matches your colors. Typically you would not use thick bright colors unless you can blend them very well, you want something that will keep a person's attention, that matches the Company or Organization and never ever strain. If the client provides you with photos you can choose colors from that photo and build the website around the photo. One website that will help you in creating color schemes is colorsuckr you can upload photos and the website will automatically select the color and give the color code.
